Meagan Smith- U.N. Ad Campaign Shows What The Internet Thinks of Women

I came across this ad campaign while browsing one of my favourite websites earlier today. I found it to be clever, and a good way to empower women within advertising. We often see women being objectified in ads and this campaign does the complete opposite. After looking at these ads I went to google and actually typed in what they said (“woman need to..” “women can’t”) and to my amazement the drop down menu with suggested searches mirrored the ad. When searching the internet these are real suggested search options.  These suggested searches are a clear indication to why we need to continue placing focus on women’s rights and empowerment.
