Laura Gilbertson – The Gender Ad Project

I found this website for The Gender Ad Project when browsing the Internet for a previous post. The Gender Ad Project focuses on the intersection between gender and advertising. This site acts as a database of different advertisements sorted by gender, sexuality, sexual ideologies and objects. This website is a value resource to look at and compare the ways which people, their bodies, and related objects are portrayed in advertising. I found it interesting how many different categories were featured on this website, and how many different aspects of society are portrayed and stereotyped in everyday print advertisements.
