Nick Mendes: Cadillac ad geared towards women?

In class last week we looked at a dodge charger commercial that was specifically geared towards men to which we then saw a spoof ad of the original advertisement. I remember this advertisement when it appeared back in 2007 to show off Cadillac’s brand new generation of the escalade. Most people who see a big SUV think it would be a ‘manly’ vehicle, so they should target it towards men, however what Cadillac knows is that in many cases the escalade is used by soccer moms and stay at home mothers which is why they chose to target this one towards women. It is a some what interesting ad making fun of how other car commercials think women choose one car over another due to its number of cup holders.
