Quiz #4 – Culture Jamming – NikeVision

This example of culture jamming looks at Nike and the well known fact that their shoes are produced in sweatshops for extremely little pay. It implies that NikeVision is the ideology “If it makes more money, Just Do It.” Even though everyone knows about Nike’s factory working conditions, people still purchase their products. Sometimes it takes a visual like this for people not to just brush over this fact. If more demarketing advertisements like this were put out, it might actually hold onto societies attention so that people will stop purchasing Nike products, or demand a change.
