The documentary from last week, “The Naked Brand”, talked about a number of companies going green. Although consumers may think these companies are going green to save the environment and eliminate their carbon footprints, we find out that this is not the case. Many of the going green companies claim to be doing it not just to help out the environment, but because it is cheaper to do so. In addition to this, we also were introduced to this idea of “greenwashing” which is when a company misinforms its consumers by presenting themselves as environmentally friendly in order to achieve an environmentally responsible public image.
