In class and through some previous blog posts we have touched on the fact that an advertisement apparently does not need to actually talk about the product or service for it to be an effective advertisement.

In this well done advertisement, there is no mention to the actual product (Corona) other than a visual image in the last sequence of the advertisement, but the message is heard loud and clear. Corona is not advertising their beer as much as they are advertising the kind of lifestyle you will be living if you drink Corona. Living on ones own terms is such an appealing thought and the images shown in the commercial effectively show this. I find it interesting that an advertisement that does not touch on the actual product can be so effective but it apparently is. Advertising a lifestyle and a way of life is an effective way to reach a public audience and to try to entice consumers to buy your product.

If drinking Corona means living free, I know I’m getting some..
